Edelpappband (“Millimeter”) binding
A North American fine paper binding, the Edelpappband is based on a German paper binding. The case is covered in paper with leather or vellum trim added to the head and tail and the foredges or corners for durability. The addition of leather provides for an elegant style of fine paper case binding, which is lovely for edition binding and one-of-a-kind bindings. This structure is often sewn on flattened cords or linen tapes.
